Coir: material for mats, floorcoverings, mattresses, and geotextiles, etc
Shell: raw material for Katsuryokutan®
Albumen: for food, animal food, oil and fats, etc., desiccated coconuts
Liquid part: water e.g. for drinks and alcohol, UES will use it as future raw material for biomass plastics
The unlimited potential of the coconut
Our commitment to the potential of the coconut and the resulting steady accumulation of research knowledge has enabled us to develop all kinds of products of great benefit to the environment. Katsuryokutan® activated carbon is one example, one with an extremely wide range of applications. These include the exceptional algal bloom purification properties of CRI-up®, the highly oil-absorbent properties of Coco-Bio®, and the soli-enrichment properties of Coco-Tita DX. All of these products are derived from natural coconut materials with a structure much more complex than other natural substances, thus making it an ideal material for producing activated carbon.
But these are only a few of the possibilities that the coconut offers. Currently, we are researching coconut water as a raw material for biomass plastics, with the aim of developing, unlike the plastic used today, an environmentally sound plastic perfectly in harmony with the natural environment.
